Departure date and time to be determined....

Northeast Philadelphia Airport

To

NYC Metropolitan Helipads
(West 30th, Wall St., and East 34th)

To

La Guardia

Obviously a helicopter would be required on this trip.
More details (scenery, aircraft suggestions) to occur in a little while.

I suppose if you are completely against helicopters, you could circle the area while the rotary-winged pilots briefly visit the heliports. It won't take that long, just a quick touch and go at each, then off to La Guardia.

EDIT: Scenery Details---

Northeast Philly scenery available on a few major FS sites, I'm personally not going to get it, but get it if you wish.

Heliports:

Obtain:
East 34th
West 30th - Metro Version
Downtown Manhattan
Manhattan AFCADs

La Guardia:
Very nice freeware version available on most major sites by Shehryar Ansari.

Real world weather will be used, and if you will be using a helicopter, I would suggest letting others know what precise one you are using, and what livery.
Also, I would suggest practicing landing and departing from those helipads, especially in various wind conditions.
Keep in mind when practicing that you will have one or two other helicopters in the air with you going into nearby pads during the event, so be mindful of your final approach path. The pads at each heliport are spaced apart only as far as necessary.

Suggested Aircraft:

Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin:

I have a major panel mod for this chopper available also. If you are interested, PM me with your email address. Also have a soundpack suggestion.

Bell 206 (better than default):

LOL...!

Its not that I'm against them, (I'd rather NOT be against them!...;)...)...

.....It's just that I watch them practicing, (hopping up and down), at my local Flying Club...with a look of terror on their faces...and it never looks like fun, to me!...;)...!

Paul.... ;D... ;D...!

I'm guessing you need a mic. to participate?

Nowhere did I indicate that a microphone is required for this event.

That being said, it might be easier for helicopter pilots to use one rather than typing, unless they have an autopilot installed, as I do in my Dauphin. Trying to type and fly a helicopter is often an exercise in futility unless you are able to type quickly with one hand free. (Collective hand, Cyclic pretty much needs constant attention.)

A microphone and Teamspeak usage is suggested, but not required.

OK,  I also must ask if this is for fs2004 or fsx

I'll be using FS2004. I don't know how many of those helicopters and sceneries work with FSX, but you could try if that is your sim of choice.

I might be there flying in the general area just to make the airways a little more crowded....... in my fixed wing aircraft.  Helis hold NO attraction for me for some reason.

Not sure if I can make it though.

best,

The afcad files won't work without conversion.  I could do it or their was a program a while ago that X'ers could use. ;)
