Here is the info on our first show of the 'season'!

We will have the show on the weekend of October 18 . The show will of course be held on our server - FlyFS.hopto.org  Music, narration, and voice comms will be on the Teamspeak server for those who wish to use it.  I'm aiming for a start time of 12:30 PM eastern time, however there will be several of us on before then for some last minute practice or flights into the airport.

The signup deadline has passed and the list of acts is now frozen.  If you wish to fly in a show, check back for info regarding our next show which will be held November 7 and 8.

List of acts
*National Anthem and Mustang Formation Flyby (Aaron B, Copperbelt Jack, two spots open)
*Mustang Solo (Rhino)

*Mass Mustang Formation (open to everyone)

If you want in on the mass formation, just stick around until the end of the show.

I have assembled an aircraft pack containing all of the planes you will need to fly in and watch the show. To install the planes, you simply need to download the file, unzip it, highlight all of the folders it contains, and paste them into your FS9/Aircraft folder. The file is 334MB, and you can download it here:

While most of us use FS2004, the show is for BOTH FSX and FS2004.  We use a program called FSHost to run the server, which means either version can connect to it.  If you are going to connect with FSX, you'll need to download FSHostClient (free) at the link below.  Once you run the program, you connect to our server (the IP is FlyFS.hopto.org) and then start a free flight in FSX (don't use the FSX multiplayer feature - the program will do that all itself).  Then it is like regular multiplayer for FS2004 (you can't see smoke, ride with other people, or voice chat through FS).

I can fly by in a mirage 2000 that I'm currently addicted to:

There's also a FS9 version of it.

If that's un-doable then I could go in a P-38 if it's for FSX.

That would be great!  You'll have to fly the FS9 version though so it is compatible with everyone.  It shouldn't be much different from the FSX version.

I'll fly the Decathlon for a solo act, and could I have "Enter Sandman" for my song with my act? :-?

No worries, we use both text and voice.

I've just updated the list of acts.  If your name/act is not starred, it means I don't have your plane so contact me ASAP.  There is still time to sign up as well.

Sorry for the late notice, but due to an error in the pack, everyone has to download this small file as well.  It contains the aircraft.cfg file for the Vipereast folder.  Once you download it, extract it and copy the .cfg file into the Vipereast folder that is already in your aircraft directory.  When asked, overwrite the file.  If you don't do this, you won't be able to see the F-16 at all.

That's about the best reason I've heard to miss anything.  No worries.

Well, it was a lot of fun even if it didn't go exactly as planned.  But when have we ever had one that did?  I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and I hope you'll all come back for the next one.  How did everyone like the Skyraiders?  I was really glad we got to fly that, but I'm going to kill whoever sent Slick that rick roll.  Though we didn't get to every act on the list, we did make some up as we went and that's more fun.

I am starting to really prefer the idea of a fly-in type event as opposed to a show.  Perhaps I'll plan more of those this year.  We'll have to get some formation training days set up soon too.

I'll post my screenshots later tonight.
