Connecting on FSX

I am really quite confused.... On FS9 it was as simple as whacking in an IP address and then I could connect to the server, but for some reason I just cant do it on FSX.
Whenever I try to use that GameSpy thing it says my password needs to be alphanumeric... my password (NOT my actual password, but a demonstration of what it looks like) is 'computer99'
It isnt that, but when I try to do a similar password it won't allow it, it says it must be less than 16 characters and alphanumeric (it is both)
When I try a direct connection by signing in with just a username it says it cant find the server, and the IP address it is connecting to is correct.
Any thoughts? I have FSHost, FSHostSpy and all the ports are forwarded.
Cheers

Alright fixed.... Gamespy needed me to verify my email from like 2 years ago lol.
*Simming away*
edit: Grr, GameSpy says I might be signed in on another computer.... wierd.

gamespy is ballsed up, and microsoft cant make MP hosting and client connected for toffee, so unless some ingenious 3rd party developer makes one we are doomed

Yeh... it still keeps thinking that I am signing in somewhere else. It is quite odd.

Why don't you FSX flyers just download
this small program and fly on any server you like? And stop complaining about how bad Gamespy is?
This little piece of software has been around since the introduction of FSX (or Doomsday) and it works.
Crash

(Hell will freeze over before I buy FSX)

Router issues! WHAT FUN!
To get rid of that 'logged on to another computer' hardwire your computer to the router and go on at a less busy time. Or buy a new router.
Stick with FS9.

Yep, Ive got both the host and spy of HSHost...
Whenever I sign in on gamespy or just locally and try to join the server via the direct IP... it always says that it cannot connect.
