Displaying players aircraft

I came across this thread (clicky) and discovered that it may be possible to see each others aircraft, without having them in your aircraft folder.

OK...We need to organise a multiplayer session now!

It's great to have some feedback on this at last but one report hardly busts any myths. ::) It makes no difference to me but it would be nice if a few of you multiplayer types would get together & give this a proper test. Even if it doesn't work what possible harm would it do?

I've read that the tweak did work for previous versions of FS/CFS but was likely to cause lag & hangups depending on your connection. This was before most people had broadband so it might be different now. I suspect it would probably work best over a LAN setup.
