The time has come, ive decided to do a few tours for those of us who are "Commerical addictive".
Flying Short - Medium Routes, 737 - 767, we will cover large distances!

This is only in the VERY early stage, but look out for intial information on this tour on the 21st Feb.

The "HIGH FLYERS CLUB" will be a "Beta" tour, so ideas will be tried, and if the first few tours are successful, the HIGH FLYERS CLUB will begin, with flights operating weekly.

Many thanks for looking, and PLEASE advance on the comments, remember, without your feedback - i'm only planning MY tours!.

James - Jimbo's Tours

PS: GA flying, will ALWAYS be my MAIN Priority... This is just an idea!!

Considering there are plenty people here who fly big stuff, your idea might catch on. You won't see me up there though. Well maybe just to slow things down with my Piper Cub. Flying circuits around the airfield. Really slow......

Crash ;)

PS only joking ofcourse. Sounds like a great plan, Jimbo.

Do'nt loose heart Jimbo, start it & people will come to have a look, if not hrs long trips I will have a go.

From A to B, economical Jet flt.planning is made so that TOC is at a FL that coincides with TOD (or with shortest cruise possible), reaching a height in the first waypoint of STARS & land at B.

p.e. If A to B is 200nm, climb to a FL that covers 100nm, close the throttles & descent to reach the first STAR alt, say 5000', covering 75nm (height to loose 25th.ft x3=75), leaving 25nm for approach & land at B.

Pressurised jets descend at 3-4000fpm.

These calculations were taken out of performance graphs in the flt.manual before each flight by the crew, but nowadays Ops hands you a hard copy of the computerised flt.plan, which in turn you bring up in the FMS by keying the icao codes of A & B !.

Let's have a go.

Hi Luke.

Many thanks for your interest.

What you suggested may sound a wee bit advanced for some users, i'm an FMS geek, and i keep on top of it, but what i had in mind is VERY similar to what i have now, List the Waypoints (GPS DIRECT), the MAP, Suggest a cruising altitude, and cruising Speed.

My new tours are all about LEARNING, and this method of vague planning will allow the users (you lot) to plan your OWN flights with my proprietry imformation.

It may not sound "Good" at the moment, but believe me, this level of tuition will get everyone flying at their own pace and management skills.

James

Management skills.... ::)....?

I take one look at the instrument panel, etc, on a large, Commercial, Passenger jet; switch the 'Puter off, and go shopping instead... ;)...!

(I cannot imagine landing one of "those things" in a local Farmers private grass air strip!)... :o...!

Whether I could manage a small Cessna Citation jet, or not, for the Tour, I don't know....
...perhaps I could try...MMmmmm..... ::)...?

It all comes down to the recommended speed for the Hop, as to which aircraft would be suitable?... :o...!!

I don't think my Trusty Beech Baron will keep up with a 747 Jumbo...Bugger!... :'(...!
LOL...!

Paul... 8-)...!

(I hate bleedin' Commercial Jets! They are too fast, too high, and they don't enjoy the amazing scenery down below)....LOL... ;D...!

From your OWN opinion to another, there are JUST as many Commercial Simulation fans as there are general aviation. People like different things Paul, which i what im trying to determine - create tours for the best of both worlds.

Management Skills - there are ALOT OF SKILLS involved in planning, maintaining, and controlling a commercial jet. The MANAGEMENT skills YOU learn from these commercial tours can be easily put into any other simulation flights, as well as practical in general life.

Remember, commercialised jets are the future, and arn't going anywhere.
