I know what you mean and I don't think it has anything to do with your system or internet connection. Like you said it's the other aircraft that jumps around. I see it everytime when I fly online. It has probably something to do with the speed of the internet connection of the other person you are flying with. For instance I see Fozzer's aircraft jump around all the time when we fly online. Knowing that he is on a 56K dail-up connection that is probably why that happens.

Simply put it's LAG ........ caused by a combination of distance ... equipment and connection speeds. Even at the speed of light you will see a difference over distance ..... add to that the quality of equipment and everything is compounded. There's absoulutely nothing you can do about it so don't fret.

Yup... I see Fozzers plane do that too.  

Only those with a good broadband connection seem to "steady" in flight.  

When you are connecting to a server look at the "lag"  or "latency" that is shown in either FSHostSpy or the default MSFS multiplayer connection screen.  If this number is something like 200-300...... expect jumping of lots of aircraft no matter WHAT type of connection you have.  The data packets are taking a lot of time to get through to the various connected computers... and that makes the positin information of the aircraft get a bit out of real time.

I look for connections that are under 100 for smooth flight.

On my 56K connection, the only time I experience "jumping aircraft" is when all our aircraft are very close to the ground and there are lots of scenery objects that the computer has to cope with displaying, as well as the aircraft.
As an example; flying nose down, closely following another aircraft to land, at an airfield containing many complex objects.

When we are flying in close formation in a clear sky, there is no such problem... ;D...!

A mixture of close multiplayer aircraft, and close complex scenery creates the problem, otherwise I have no difficulties in smooth flight on 56k dial-up*.....;)...!
