Welcome to SimViation. Home of the nut house where there is always one more padded room available for the new guys. ;D

Just to let you know, I have a theory here in the V [short for SimV] on why the zone was shut down.

1. Lack of popularity
2. Lack of stability
3. Lack of efficiency
4. The FS series can function online without the zone anyways using the IP address method.
5. The IP method is efficient, stable, and more popular compared to the zone.
6. There are a tone of IP-based servers out there that both perminant and stable. Ex: WSP and others.

When it comes to IP-based servers, all you need to do is type in the IP address of the server in question, which is provided by the host or site, onto the IP address field within the multiplayer menu of FS. Hit "join" and you're in. However, you must make sure that certain ports are open.

not to mention that the capabilities for using IP addressed games is better 10 fold. look at FSHost as a primary example. it holds unlimited pilots, with admin control over weather, messaging, banning, etc... not to  mention a basic idea of who is connecting and who isn't.

why do these people with a number of posts that we can count on one hand try to tell us other members who need to take off our shoes to count our posts try and tell us these things? especally when we have our own server!

Well sometimes there isnt anyone on our own server so having FSHost is nice if you want to find somewhere to fly.

Also, post count means nothing.  Ive been on these forums for 2 and a half years and I dont have a million posts.  Look at some of our members, like Nav.  He posts the most insightful and useful posts, but he has very few posts even tho he has been on the furms for a long time.  Dont get all cocky because you talk a lot

Don't have the attitude to not listen to someone because they're new and have a small post count. I've been around people with a similar attitude all my life. Either they're older then me and thought that since I was just a kid that I didn't know anything, or people who outrank me think that I wouldn't have any new ideas to share. It get's old after a while ::)
