Problems in multiplayer

Postby The-Black-Sheep » Sun Jun 04, 2006 7:53 am

Whenever I log into a server, after about 20 mins, FS crashes on me. I minimize to windows, open up the windows task manager, and it states that FS is not responding. Is there any particular reason why FS is crashing ??? I've closed my firewall and most other security settings, just to make sure that they aren't the cause of this problem, I've done a full re-installation of Fs, and I still don't have a clue. Help will be appreciated....a lot :)

I'm connected to a router (wireless aswell) That shouldn't be the problem though, as I run other multiplayer games fine with my wireless connection. Correct ports are open aswell. Man am I confused about this one ???

blacksheep,

Problems with fs2004 make it far fussier about setup and ports than other multiplayer programs.  THIS is an area all of us are hoping fsX will address.

There are a number of port issues........

One is the ports in the PC you are running, which is pretty simple to set up.

The second is the ports on the ROUTER too....... which can get a minor bit thorny.

See the stickies a the top of the forum for details.

best,

................john

ahh you think that. but about 80% of the time it's a router issue. as Jbaymnore stated, the ports on your router are most likely not open. I run on a wireless as well (I run an FS server over my wireless, soon to change)

check the stiky up top for a link about port forwarding.
you will need access to your router to open these ports.

what kind of router do you have?
