I may have to whip out a Boeing Business Jet for this hop if it's 250! :P

Looking forward to it.....I'll be there again tomorrow.

BLOODY NORAH...!

250 Knots+.... :o...!

That lets me out as a VFR piston prop aviator...!
I can't cope with 50,000 feet AGL, shiny aluminium passenger jets, or turbo props....!
They are definitely not for low level, piston prop, small airfield, General Aviation, touring pilots, like yours truly, I'm afraid...  :'(...!

Sorry Lads...!

Fozzer, kick out the passengers in the aircraft.cfg and the luggage. Lose some weight on the pilot and co-pilot, then blast your turbo baron through the sky at max speed. It will go faster than 220 knts. Keep in mind that a 250+ plane needs to slow down sooner for landing and the baron can keep it's full speed for a longer time.

Crash ;)

Edit: got the speed up to almost 230 knts now.

Yes 250 is reccomended, since we have just over 400 nm to cover... so anything between 200 - 250 would be fine...

So, you gotta' pick something a bit faster  8)

Just checked out the Lancair Legacy. 280 knts at 1000ft AGL in clear weather. Fast enough for a GA airplane?

Crash ;)

Nope, it's not. But what other default aircraft besides the big boeings will go faster than 250+? Not all airports in these hops can handle big airliners. Now the Lancair Legacy is a GA plane, can land virtually everywhere and is very fast. It's only a small download (about 6Mb) and can be found on SimViation FS2004 Props page 5.

Crash ;)

Thanks for making the reccomendations.

Im sure there is some GA aircraft out there which is capable of doing 200+.

Cheers,

My choice is definetly the Lancair Legacy, super little nippy thing :D

I'm sorry Lads...!
I have no other choice... :'(...!

Me, and my trusty "Default Beech Baron" with our lovely Bendix-King radios, are un-separable...

...So if you insist on 250+ knots it looks as though I will have to install my "Cheat Switch", marked..."Simulation Rate = 2X", into the half-inch diameter hole in my instrument panel and wire it to the throttle controls....;)...!

Aircraft fitted with jet engines, or gas turbine engines driving propellers, are completely foreign to your old Mate, more used to flying General Aviation aircraft fitted with engines like his trusty motor-bike...or his 1982 Austin Allegro motor car....
.....Pistons going up and down, and crankshafts going round and round, turning a big fan (or two) up at the front... 8)...!

...and for practical reasons, it has to be a "Default Aircraft" so that it is visible to everyone... ;)...!

So..... not a lot of alternatives, really.... :'(....!

See how it goes... ;)...!

Paul...Low and Slow...G-BPLF...!

But then you'll arrive at the final destination about half an hour ahead of everyone else! You could always do a bit of tweaking in the aircraft config to make your Baron go that bit faster!

I'm gonna make the effort to show up tonight (hopefully!), King Air and all...
