Just on a little side note, sorry that the 3rd race has been so long coming - Clip and I have been rather busy lately. ;)

Welcome racers, here we are again for another SimV Race! Expect Learjets, luxury and Vodka Martini's......as "Bond is Back!"

For the upcoming race, we've been asked to foward you a message signed by "Don Goldfingerllini".... read on!

Ciao racers,
My....'friends' and I are in need of pilots....fast, skilled pilots. We need you to fly some shipments of.....'mangoes' to certain locations. Below is an enclosed list of what you gotta do. But beware....the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) are patrolling the airways and due to this, you gotta fly under 12,000ft. Watch out for their Eurofighter Tpyhoon's patrolling the airways!
If you do get contacted by a DEA airplane, do your best to escape and DO NOT let them cross in front of you at a range of 0.1 miles or closer. If they do,  they may ask you to do any one of several aerobatic or flight manouvers, such as a 360 degree turn, a barrel roll, inverted flight for a required distance, maybe even ask you to temporarily reduce your altitude to 100 ft.
Just look at these guys...they got caught themselves - don't let it happen to you...

1 ) Meet at Geneva, LSGG. There you'll start up your racing Lears which have already been loaded with "Mangoes". Do Not open the crates - just walk up to the cockpit and lock the door behind you. Then, takeoff from LSGG and follow a heading of 109. Remember the altitude restrictions - the DEA are out there somewhere.
Image

2 ) Those mountains are big and dangerous and will require highly skilled navigation to make it through at 12,000ft or less....don't hit them, those 'mangoes' are precious to us....
Image

3 ) After about 136 miles, you'll arrive at LIMB, in Milan. Here, you gotta land, taxi over to the fuel pumps, open your aircraft door (while you do we'll load up a few more mangoes), and continue your trip. After you takeoff, follow a heading of 235, and meet more of my 'friends' at LFML....that's Marseille.
Image

4 ) At LFML, you gotta do the same. Land, taxi to the fuel pumps, open your aircraft door (more mangoes will be loaded), and make the final hop to LEGE, Barcelona, on a heading of about 230.
Image

Image

5 ) Land at LEGE. This is where we want to pick up our Mangoes. Look for Golfingerllini in his  DC-3, hidden somewhere at the airport, taxi up and shut down your engines. First one to do so will win the race, get a simulated cash reward  and of course, earn Golfingerllini's admiration and respect, and of course live to race another day.

Me and my boys 'friends' look forward to seeing our drugs 'mangoes' again.....

Well....we drew up a map based on the letter, here it is:

One final thing racers....here's a few Required aircraft
Default DC-3
Default Learjet
DSB Eurofigther Typhoon (FS2002 model, works fine in FS2004, and it is the one with the first black Typhoon image)

It seems Goldfingerllini has given you all the info.....good luck racers, this guy seems suspicious....

(If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask Clipper or myself :))

What is this obsession about switching off the engines?  In the last race we had to switch off whenever we changed planes, in this one we have to switch off at each stopover and again at the destination.  Getting the engines started again on the Lear is a PITA.

Does one of you have an engine starting fetish or something? ???  ;D

*Katahu puts on his $75 tuxeto rental*

*Grabs a glass of Ginger Ale*

*Takes a sip*

[JamesBondAccent]So, how many of us here are ready. I'm already dressed to kill.[/JamesBondAccent]

PS: Ginger Ale is a soft drink. It just looks like white wine.

Gryshnak puts on his Biggles flying helmet, and finishes his whisky lemonade in one swift movement.

"Ready," he replies.

(Extra kudos to anyone who understands the whisky/lemonade reference)

I think we'll scrap the shut down engines part of the race, will confirm later to-day. Gry, you're right, it is an unnecessary pain in the butt....

I just flew the entire course and finished with 25% fuel still in the tanks, so stopping to refuel shouldn't be necessary.  But we still need to stop and pick up 'mangoes' so perhaps heading over to the fuel pumps, coming to a halt and opening the door would be sufficient?  Then we can close the door again and roar off to the next stop.

I think we'll also be demonstrating the Lear's cross country driving abilities, as people take short cuts across the grass instead of using the proper taxiways!

A suggestion: using Eurofighters to catch Learjets is already like shooting fish in a barrel.  How about the Typhoon pilots switch off their aircraft ID function so they don't see the little red numbers floating over our race aircraft from 10 miles away?  That way they would have to use their eyes instead of their instruments.
