The SimV Internainal Airshow - location revealed!

Welcome pilots to the SimV International Airshow!
Planning is still in it's stages, and now Tweek and I want to know exactly what aircraft you are flying, and we would like you to provide a link so everybody can download the aircraft. (I know this was asked in the other thread but this is just to make it easier for Tweek and myself.)

As for the location......look for EGDY.....aka RNAS Yeovilton - so far, it'll be big enough to accommodate the display aircraft!

There are also a few "no-fly-zones" around the airfield-  this is where the crowd will be when watching a display. Try not to fly over the heads of the spectators:-

Tweek also wanted to mention a UK2000 scenery demo which enhances the area and airport, found here

A new thread with a programme of the airshow will be up soon!

In order to simplify things on the day, please state what aircraft you will be using by Wednesday, 20:00GMT. This way, I'll be able to create the programme there and then, and people will have enough time to download the necessary ones.

The show will most likely be starting at around 16:00-20:00 GMT, this Saturday, depending on what suits most people.

May I also ask for people to put a * at the beginning of their post, if they don't mind opening the show (being the first to display).

[edit] And I almost forgot the most important part of my post!

I'll be using the Simshed AI Tucano from:
http://www.simshed.co.uk/download/tucai.asp
or
http://www.simviation.com/fs2004props92.htm

Also, the Aeroplane Heaven Hurricane:
www.aeroplaneheaven.com.
First download on the 'Free Stuff' page.

well it adds to the whole realism of it. Plus, it's much easier to follow a display that's exclusively infront of you. F1View is good, but it doesn't pan fast enough for you to keep looking overhead and behind you.

And Theis, are you flying the F-14?

Heres my time issues:  during the week, I dont get out of school till 2020GMT.  On saturday, I have a guitar lesson at 1930GMT-2000gmt.

Heres an Idea: Next monday if Martin Luther king jr day.  There is no school for americans, so maybe we can do it on that monday at 2000gmt.

It could always be a Sunday. Week nights can get pretty hectic, especially later on. We don't know how long this display will last, so it would probably be a good idea to hold it on the Sunday. Maybe a bit earlier, say 17:00GMT. I don't know yet, we'll have to see what suits everyone.

Negative.
at 20.00GMT, im not allowed to fly, because its schoolday next day for me..
its ok, if this was a only american event, but it isn't.
there is alot of europeans, that have work, and need to bed earlyer than the american (note! i said Europeans, not brits!) People like me, live in GMT+1 and then its 21.00!

so your plan is good, but it can't work...

Just my 2 $...

Well, Jakemaster has a guitar lesson at 19:30-20:00GMT Saturday. I'm pretty sure it will be finished by then if we start the event at 17:00GMT, usually trouble free for most people.

It's just about impossible to work out a time which would suit everyone. We're just gonna have to get the best out of it.

I'd prefer if it started no later than 17:00GMT, if it runs for an hour (quite likely) then it clashes with meal times.  Most scheduled events run later than planned anyway, don't they?  If you plan for 16:00GMT, it'll probably start somewhere between 16:30 and 17:00  ;D

Nuh uh.  I dont mean go behind, just fly over.  The snowbirds went over and behind the crowed alot.  I plan on using the shorter runway as a guide for flybys, but have one fly by where im coming straight at you

.:=Plane Change!!=:.

after some testing with the F-14, i found its performance for Airshow too bad, so im changing plane to the F-5E

Hope this is allowed
