Tweek and I have had a little idea.....what do you guys think?

THE SIMV INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW

Image

Bringing the skilled wacky pilots of SimV  -together in an online airshow!!

Be prepared to dazzle the crowds with an array of tactical manoeuvers, stunning stunts, great formations and maybe even a mock dogfight!

How did you get the idea for the airshow?
The SimV International airshow was planned by Tweek and I after the latest leg of the UK tour, which was quite a good flight (after all, Fozzer was there :D). Tweek and I put on a small airshow, and decided to make things on a lerger scale......here it is.

I want to fly in the airshow!
If you want to fly at the airshow, please do! You must state what aircraft you intend to fly in this thread and please provide a link so the spectators and other pilots can see your aircraft.

What happens after my display?
After you've dazzled the crowds, please land your aircraft and taxi to a point where you can see the active runway (so you don't miss the action) and please switch back to the Cessna 172 - just to keep things as framerate friendly as possible for those with "modest" systems.

If I were going to do a display with one or more pilots, what should I do?
If you are going to perform with other pilots (i.e. mock dogfight) please discuss your plans with the other people youy intend to fly with, then state in this thread what you will be doing and what you will be flying.

When is the airshow?
As of yet, Tweek and i have not discussed a set time. We will allow enough time for you all to download the aircraft that the displayers will be flying. :)

Where will the Airshow be held?
The airshow is most likely to be hosted on WSP's servers - nothing as yet has been planned.

Finally, what do I do if i just want to watch?
If you're not the person who likes to fly at 500KIAS plus, just come along in a Cessna 172, park up and enjoy the show!!

We hope to see you all there!

So, what do you guys think of the idea?

And also, please, if anyone does actually decide to take part, try to use aircraft with low filesizes (for those 'dial-upers' among us! ;))

We'll get people's word on the matter before we go planning it any further.

Sounds great guys! :D

I'd but love to participate, AND shoot all of it in FRAPS, afterwards I'll put a movie together. Of course this will only be possible if I get my PC reformated in time, but that shouldn't be a problem, it'll most probably be done by tomorrow. :)

I'll drop a note later with what aircraft I'll be flying, I just wanted to know what you think about my idea?

I'd love to display either the Kirk Olsson F16 or DSB Typhoon ;D

Your idea sounds great Ecko ;D

I must say though I will need help with how to join the game though cause I'm clueless on methods for joing FS games other than standard IP. ???

Well if you shoot a video, we can definitely wait for you! It will have to be next weekend or something, so that people have a chance to download aircraft.

Wow, can you actually display that?
I tried but couldn't come to terms with the woefully underpowered engine it has.

its pretty good to do an airshow in and also very maneuverable,

Clipper, i wouldn't class you as an amateur as your good at aerobatics.

I'll be flying the Stock Piper Cub and will try to put on a good display in it

Sounds good so far :) When it comes closer to the time (we haven't decided when, yet), we'll start a thread so you can post what aircraft to get and where to get it.

I myself will be flying the Tucano. Has good rudder control for knife edge passes ;)

We'll have to think up a schedule aswell, so it doesn't turn into a "CAN I GO NEXT?!" fest! Then, the next displayer can be ready to taxi onto the runway as soon as one touches down. Hopefully, the planning and execution shall run smoothly!

Oh and also, if you do not have Active Camera, I strongly recommend F1View. That way you'll be able to move out of your C172 virtual cockpit, and move your veiwpoint so you can actually follow the display without the use of the number pad keys :)

I've decided on the Seafire!! Whata about the location? Something framerate friendly Yet big enough to hold all sizes of planes?

Yes, I've thought that myself. As long as it has a long enough runway, we'll be fine. Probably somewhere in the UK, with one long runway, so the pilots don't get confused as to what runways they are lined up with.
