.Great Idea!

Postby Chris M. » Fri Nov 12, 2004 5:36 pm

I thought of this idea last night. My idea is to use real airplane headsets with the team speak.  I am going to see if radio shack has an adapter for the headsets.  Just thought i would share my idea to make simming more fun ;D

I consider my Plantronics .90 headset a "real airplane headset". ;D

Cessna,

I have seen an adapter specifically made for this on one of the flight sim websites.  Unfortunately I can't remember exactly which one.

Most likely it is a simple "connector matching issue".  But it could be that the impedance of the reall availation phones is different ....and or the mike output is a different line level.

best,

..............john

Ebay has some good ones for about 50 dollars though.

Good ones for $50???  Here you get bad quality ones for about AU$200!!  And I have to buy a good quality one soon.  ;)

good quality is  about 500$.  And all you need is a 1/4in to 1/8in adapter and you'll be good.  It should only cost you a buck or two
