HELP ME DEAR GOD!!

me and a buddy were tryna set up a lan game for me and him but no matter what we tried we couldn't see each other if one of us hosted and we couldnt join any games is there a patch or something im missing? any help would be hugly helpfull thanks

Drastic which version of FS were you using and how were you trying to make the MP session?

microsoft flight sim 2004 and threw the multiplayer option that it gives u in the main menu

Did you have a firewall running on either machine?

Okay turn off the firewall on each machine (especially the internal XP one if you are running XP) and hopefully the machines should be able to communicate (the XP firewall and many others block port 80 which is needed for FS comms)

ok now when it asks for the port it gives u a default one am i supposed to leave that or what is it supposed to set to and when it asks for ip do i give mine or the ip im tryna connect to

Get one of the machines running as the host and then let the other connect to its session IP (best to give the session a name).

are u guys behind a router, noone can join anygame thats hosted by a router.
Ohhhhhhhhhh yes they can ........ its just a case of opening the correct ports so that communication can take place ... I'm in the process of writing a sticky for the top of this forum on the most common connection problems.
