Absolutely....people don't want a virtual airline that "forces" them to do anything.
It's a lot of hard work trying to get launced into the VA world, but once you do, it's quite fun.
Try to make something that makes your airline stand out, because as you've probably seen, there are tons of them.
In our case, we became the first airline in the world to offer pilots our pilot career enhancement tool, FiFo. It gives our pilots single click access to everything they'll need.
Second, get everything set up before you open. This was our mistake, and it took us probably three times as long to get where we are today.
Third, advertise CONSTANTLY. Put an ad in the registry here at SimV, post your news on FSINN.com, check out the VA Connection, etc.
Fourth, listen to your pilots needs. No one knows what they want and need better than them.
And finally, patience. It will take a while to get going. People want to make sure your airline isn't like the other thousands that close in two weeks. Be patient, and make sure people know you're around for the long haul.
