multiplayer nightmares

Postby macstu23 » Thu Oct 02, 2003 11:04 am

Well now that the multiplayer server is up and running again I have been  giving it a go...and what a complete 'banging ones head off the table' type waste of time its been. I'm lucky if i see more than maybe 5 games going on at the same time...even more lucky if one of those games has more than 'two notches' of connection speed, then when I do try to connect I'm usually  told I have incompatable aircraft or server protocol mismatches...I even re-installed the game thinking maybe the wide-screen cockpits I had installed were the reason, so I'm using only the pure stock aircraft now, but no, i still get mismatches and incompatibility errors. When I do eventually get into a game, I dunno who is axis or who is allied....thats if i even see the enemy aircraft, and what side am i on ? do i shoot the pink ones or the blue ones ? Its enough to make my hair fall out....usually in big lumps by my own hands. Maybe we should try and make sure everyone is running the same version/aircraft/updates/mods etc so that we can all start enjoying this game instead of ripping our own hair out in pure frustration. If things dont improve soon I'll be blowing the dust off my CFS2 and going back to that. Does anyone else suffer the same as me ?

Anguished,
