What are you doing this weekend?

Postby ShaneG_old » Thu Sep 03, 2009 5:11 pm

Got a few spare minutes?  Insomnia sure to keep you up?

Something like this hasn't happened here in a while...

How about everyone who currently uses MSFS try to jump online this weekend, even for a few short minutes and enjoy a quick flight with your SimV chums?

Non stop online company in the skies!  Weekends are usually the best time to find people on, so lets take it a step further.

You'll probably be on the forum anyway, so if you have to sit there staring at the screen, you may as well come on and join us. :D ;)

Hope to see a lot of you on this weekend. 8-)

There is even a Simviation airport(FS9) in the downloads for just such an occasion. 8-)

I'll try to get on whenever I have time this weekend... Probably late night on Saturday and after 5pm on Sunday

Sounds like a good idea though... Maybe after people see how fun it is to fly online, they'll get on multiplayer more often ;)

Shane,

The PROBLEM with this one..... is that a single person who does not understand setting up for multiplayer will prevent others from logging on or cause them to get booted off the server.

So if you are someone who is reading this for maybe the first time....... and you don't KNOW about how to set your PORTS up correctly..... PLEASE see the stickies a the top of this forum section BEFORE joining a session on the server.

best,

.................john

I would be afraid to mess with my ports...

I'll keep an eye open for the meeting...hoping that my CFS 2: "WW II Pacific Theater" is the correct version to use?

Will we be using the "Default Country" (Pacific Theater: Henderson, etc.) version of the Sim, flying in the Default Areas? http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs2/

Now I'm really confused Paul. Where does it say anything about CFS2?

...its still very early in the morning Doug... :-[...!

I was assuming that everyone and his Dog already knew about the Civilian Multiplayer version of the Sim, and regularly used it, and the suggestion was to use the MS CFS 2 Version for a change, as a slightly different exercise to encourage more Multiplayer newcomers.....

...silly me!... :-[...!

Paul... ;D... ;D... ;D...!

Good point John. ;)

Setting ports is about as easy as it gets, and everything you need to know to get online is laid out in the stickies.

And failing that, we're always here to help. :)

Fozz- I generalized MSFS hoping all versions with multiplayer would show up.

I know that FS2002/FS2004/ & FSX are all able to fly together on our server with no problem.

I'll see if I can get some time to get on flying this weekend.  I haven't fired up the simpit since I left for the summer in Japan over a couple of months ago.

I should be good and rusty at flying. So if you see me online..... keep well clear.  And let's have the crash trucks ready at the landing runways. ;)

best,
