I thought the Hop was OK, but it was indeed interupted by some of the other members. I know that i have no actual rights on the server, but please chaps, use  other forms of communication for discussing general information on a large scale. Thanks

What is now classed as "general information". I havent been on a tour for a while, and remember that I enjoyed them because it was a chance to chat to other flight sim enthusiasts. If we take that aspect away then I see no point in the tours  :-/

Just my opinions,

Hello Jimbo...!

Sometimes, I suspect that the Newbies to the Forum Tours are not aware of the reason for the various Sim V Tours which were started many, many years ago using small affordable, General Aviation touring aircraft; Cessna 152's, Piper Cubs, Microlights, etc, for a small group of Pilots to fly VFR between various airfields using maps and compass, radios (when fitted), and GPS, to admire the scenery at low level, and at the same time learn the intricacies of navigation and powered flight... :)...!

Now, the tours are gradually being used as an excuse to test out high speed, Military vintage/modern war-birds, Commercial passenger jets, Helicopters, etc...

...most of the aircraft being out of the affordable/licenced range of the average PPL Pilot... :o...!

Lets not confuse the Sim V GA Tours with "Airshows", "Exhibitions", "Air Races", etc... :'(...!

...time to get back to basics again, Lads... ;)...!

Family flights in affordable aircraft, over areas of natural beauty and interest... ;)...!
Which is what private flying is all about... :D...!

Paul....The average Cessna/Piper/Microlight pilot.... 8-)...!

P.S. It might also be a good idea for "new" Multiplayers to keep a watchful eye on the dates and times of the various pre-organised flight sessions in the "Multiplayer Forum", to avoid clashes and subsequent confusion and annoyance...;)...!

Here endeth the First Lesson... ::)...!

Paul,

I don't lnow who you are referring to as "Newbies" to the tour, but I'm pretty certain everyone on the tour last night was certainly not a newbie.

I don't see what is wrong with using a different aircraft as long as you follow the correct speed, and as Jimbo showed us yesterday, he was using the same aircraft as me and he organises these things!

And on the talking note I maintain what I said in my last post.

Just remember guys (especially Paul) that these tours are supposed to be good fun and have as little rules as possible. there's no point in doing them if they are not fun. I get the impression that they are turning into "Fozzers Tours" rather than Jimbos organised SimV Tours, and for that reason do not expect to see me with your tours again on Sunday nights unless these issues are accepted and attempts are made to return the tours to the enjoyable laugh they used to be.

I will however still use the server on Sundays for my own flying pleasure, as it is after all a public server.

.Mic (Not in a good mood)

PS.....I would DEFINATELY regard a helicopter such as the robinson to be a small affordable aircraft that is often used as a trainer......so I would delete the helicopters statement in your last thread Foz.

Having been a regular participant, (and often helping out), in all of the various UK organised tours, (since some "Newbies" were still at Junior School), I have observed the gradual depreciation of the quality of the flights where the original purpose is gradually getting lost.

The flights have always been "fun" in the past with regular Members taking part using the default aircraft provided in each version of the Simulator, FS '98, FS 2000, FS 2002, and FS 2004 so that there was no confusion over aircraft types during the flights, and this suggestion was regularly emphasised in the flight recommendations.
When/if FSX becomes a regulator Multiplayer flight, this may change...until then....

Each of the flights were restricted to participating Members, and each flight was involved in the details, organisation, and discussion of that particular flight.
The various Flights were taken reasonably seriously, (with fun thrown in), because that is the procedure which was insisted upon in our flights using the WS Pilots Server in the past.
They will not tolerate any conflicts during their flights... ;)...!

I still regularly use WS Pilots, (as a Member), for trouble-free flights, where everyone knows the rules, and duly behaves themselves...;)...!

Paul...Cessna 152...G-BPLF...(Mostly in a good mood).... 8-)...!

P.S Operating costs for the Robinson R22 Helicopter:
(Somewhat out of the range of most/all Private Pilots at my local airfield).
