Multiplayer Flight

Date: November 21, 2010
Time: 2:00pm US Eastern / 7:00pm Fozzer-Time / 8:00pm in Holland.
Server: fs.netfrag.org / Simviation's

Route:

Maastricht/Aachen Airport, Netherlands

TO

Eindoven, Netherlands (cutting a bit north on the way to stay within national boundaries)

TO

Rotterdam, Netherlands

TO

Lelystad, Netherlands

TO

Texel, Netherlands

Aircraft:
Small touring prop of some sort. I should have my prize packages by that time, so I'll likely be either using Just Flight's Arrow III, or Realair's Spitfire.
Maybe Aerosot's Catalina since it comes with a Dutch livery (and I can get another one too).
Note, I will be in FSX.

For FS2004 users, I recommend the following:

Koolhoven F.K.58
http://www.koolhoven.com/scale/flightsimulator/fk58/
Fokker D.17
http://simviation.com/1/download-file?file=fok_d17.zip
Dornier Do228 (Dutch Coast Guard)
http://simviation.com/1/download-file?file=d28dcg9.zip
Lockheed C-130 *requires both links (apparently comes with a Dutch version)
http://simviation.com/1/download-file?file=c130hfac.zip
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb.c ... -130C3.zip
AP Update: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb.c ... C130AP.zip
Avro Anson (third party Dutch texture):
http://simviation.com/1/download-file?f ... _RNLAF.zip
requires: http://simviation.com/fs2004vintage14.htm
Fokker C-X:
fokkercx.zip @flightsim.com (we seem to only have the CFS2 version)

NL2000 v.3 (for FS2004)

I will be using NL2000 v.4 for FSX!

Carlo, yes I believe it would be 9pm for you.
I can make the start time earlier if you wish.

Paul, I think it'll go by quicker than you think since it broken into 50nm chunks. I recommend getting any Netherlands scenery you can get your hands on for this trip.

Just to reiterate: Get some scenery! At least some airfields. It's going to be a dull trip unless you have something installed! (No mountains here...)

I don't know about you lads but I tried to install NL2000 V3SE for FS2004. It doesn't run. I have it here, all 6 (!) DVD's but the first one doesn't even start up. Thank any supreme being it's freeware. Looked nice on their website though...

Carlo ;)

PS Sorry Paul. No FireFox, using good old Maxthon2 again.

I've never tried the FS2004 version, but the FSX version 4 installed just fine for me. (Although I did have to wipe 2004 from my system for it to fit!)

Does the DVD even read and/or spin up? Maybe you have to manually access the files from the DVD and install that way?
:-?

Yeah they spin up, I can even explore the dvd but there it ends. I can click on the setup icon, how many times I like, it just doesn't start. No problem though, I have plenty of other freeware scenery for my country and I can see Holland in 3D when I go outside.

... ;D... ;D... ;D...!

It make you wonder why we sit here, day after day, messing about with all this 2D scenery stuff on our Computer Monitor, when we just need to catch a Train/'Bus, and go and visit somewhere, in glorious 3D, in full colour, and with HD surround sound... ::)... ;)... ;D...!

Carlo; will we be encountering any dangerously high terrain during our flight in Holland?.... :o.... ;D....!

Paul, we will encounter the Dutch Alps of Horror (some low hills) when we leave Maastricht Airport. Furthermore we will have to make our way across The Plains of Boredom on our way to Rotterdam. On the third leg of the trip we'll be landing at Lelystad Airport which is located near Lelystad, a city known for it's dull citycentre and equally dull inhabitants. No big risks here as long as you don't look them straight in the eyes. The fourth and final leg will take us across the Lake of Morons and across the Sea of Wadd. If we make it to Texel, we are surely going to be annoyed by the Sheeppeople with their big flocks of smelly white/brown creatures from hell.

So, to go short, nothing out of the ordinary....

I got NL2000 v3 working. Apperently there was something wrong with Microsoft .Net1.1. Re-installed it and it is working now. Will fly it after I get some sleep.

Excellent news, and your commentary on the landscape is great!  ;D ;D

Looking forward to the trip in a couple of weeks!

"I can see Holland in 3D when I go outside." That actually received a legitimate laugh-out-loud from me!  ;D
