Hi, today when i went on flight sim online, everytime i would try to join a server it would say "An error occured while downloading real world weather. Check your internet connection and try again". then it would disconnect me from the server and i wouldn't be able to join. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Let's try putting this into the multiplayer section and see if being in there helps.

You are using the Flightsim Server?

Have you tried using our own Sim V Server for Multiplayer?..>>>

http://cockpit.netfrag.org:81/

Rarely any problems there, providing that your connection is set up correctly!.. ;)..!

Are you using FS 2004 or FSX?

there might have been a problem on the Jeppesen end of the server as far as weather.  they have been a little finicky lately and not wanting to update their info or servers that are down.. etc etc etc.  just give it a few min and if it continues to happen, then you will not be able to fly with realworld weather.

Can we assume that you experience no problems whatsoever in connecting to the Server and joining in with a Multiplayer session.....
...and the problem only occurs when you attempt to download "Real Weather" before, or during the flight?

Have you tried connecting to the Server WITHOUT downloading Real Weather?

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004..FS Nav...and the Sim V Server... ;)...!

Which Server?
Which Flight Sim?...FS '98. FS 2000, FS 2002, FS 2004, FSX?
Which Windows Operating System?

FSX, Windows 7. Anytime I try to join a server that uses real world weather, which, sadly, is a lot of them... It says it connects to the server, gets right to the point where it would usually bring up the server briefing room, and then it fails, saying unable to download real world weather. And then it disconnects from that server.

You said have you tried connecting without downloading real world weather. But i don't know how to do that in multiplayer. I thought the weather was dictated by the server host. Lately I've just been going down the list to find a decent server that isn't using real world weather, but I don't want to have to do that. A lot of the servers I like playing on use it.

I am not familiar really with FSX (although I have it and prefer not to use it) but in FS 2004 one starts up the Sim in the normal way without Real Weather selected or running...(just default weather), connect to the Server in the normal way, and everything connects and runs OK...>>>>

I have un-installed my copy of FSX now, but I remember there didn't seem to be an easy way to connect to the Server of your choice in FSX, like there is in FS 2009 >>>drop-down menu>>>connect...instantly!.... ;)...!

...probably why I never joined in FSX Multiplayer!.. ::)...!

(Something to do with that "Gamespy" malarkey?)... :o...!

John...

I've un-installed my FSX...again...so I've forgotten what is involved in connecting to Multiplayer in FSX without using "Gamespy", similar to FS 2004?
There must be an easier way?
FS 2004 has a drop-down connection Menu within the game, once it is up and running.

Fozzer,

I think all the info needed for him is located here:

http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaB ... 1148901173

There is the little interface program that goes "between" FSX and FSHost.

best,
