I think I had it

Postby ShaneG_old » Sun Nov 02, 2008 5:05 pm

I tried to join a session using FS9 on the simv server, and I believe I was there as I had FShost running and I could see that others were on, and it said it added me, I then started FS9 and clicked mutiplayer and entered the server IP there also,  then I was lost for a little bit as it does not tell you what to do next. So I went to create a flight and just hit fly now not adjusting anything on that screen, and wound up at seattle with no AI(that's what makes me think I was on because I have hundreds of AI packs that always show in non-online flight) I could see a chat window and use it, but noone responed. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to use teamspeak in order to talk to others, or does everyone use the chat? Or is the problem that I need to change my location to where everyone was? Never done online flying and I followed the stickies as best as I could understand them.
I tried the FSX gamespy once and managed to get on for a 5minute session with 15other people before getting the famous error and never tried again, so I know my ports and firewalls are not a problem. Are there special settings I need to make to the display other than locking frames at 20? Sorry for the tons of questions. :-[
Thanks for any help.

You don't need FSHost running to connect, doing both will cause you to join your own server.  With FS9 you just need to use the built in multiplayer and with FSX you need to use FSHostClient.

Its easy-peasy in FS 2004.... :)...>>>>

[img]http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/multiplayer1.jpg
[/img]

When in the Game, Press "Alt" > Flights: (drop-down Menu), Select Multiplayer > Connect.

This window will pop up:

(1) Type in your Player name.
(2) Enter Sim V's Multiplayer Address: 85.10.244.109
(3) Press "Search"
(4) When the Sim V Session appears successful....
(5) Press "Join"

If the connection is successful you will be automatically returned back into the Game, fully connected to Multiplayer....

To see who else is on line (if any) at any time, don't forget to add this to your Bookmarks (Multiplayer) Folder for easy access. (Keep it open on your Desktop)....>>>

It will also indicate their nearest Airfield for you to join (if requested... ;)...).

And another tip: When in the Game, with the Servers Page displayed on the desktop. press the "Windows Key" to return you to the desktop to view the Page, then select the game again in the "Taskbar" to return back to the Game..;)...!

This way you can be kept fully informed who is on line all the time...;)...!

FS 2004 is so unbelievably simple.. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]....Try it...You'll like it!... ;)...!

..... ;D....!

F....G-BPLF...FS 2004....FS Navigator.... 8-)...!
