Postby Mazza » Fri Dec 21, 2007 7:57 pm

Okay this is really weired.

I tried to go on the simv sever and guess what, Fs9 crashed without warning :'(

I think it might have something to do with the speed of my net... it's at 390ms(what ever that is)
Also i have a wireless connection.

I saw you leave the session as soon as you joined. It must be a problem with your copy of fs9 or something else on your end because I had no problems of anykind while I was on. I don't know much about connection speeds

You are using a wireless connection? That means you have a router. Make sure you opened the ports of your router in the right way or things might go wrong. You can read about router and everything with multiplayer here:

Isn't it a funny old do...

We are familiar with all the many problems that can inflict the Multiplayer's life, involving the dreaded Modem ROUTER device, involving the opening or closing of various strange and magical "Ports", etc... :o...!

...so I trawl through the various retail suppliers of "Modems", and do you know what; no-one offers a straight-forward, bog-standard, simple, USB Modem anymore?....(like my simple Thompson Modem ST 330)!.... :o...!

They are ALL complicated (expensive) "Wireless Modem Routers" now!... >:(...!

So, to all our many Multiplayer Chums out there, experiencing connection problems, dump that nasty Modem ROUTER thingie in the trash-can, find a simple USB Modem, plug one end into the computer and the other end into the phone socket, and away you go, no more problems....

...I still can't figure out why anyone would want to use a "Router" anyway!... :-?...!

...and a "Wireless" version just means that the toe-rag in the car parked outside of your house is tuned into your ISP and using your Service, for free.... :o....!!!

Paul...I love a "Simple" life.... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

WrightStuff,

Usually when someone logs on and then almost immediately gets kicked off....... it means that someone already logged into the server does not have his/her ports opened correctly.

See the sticky at the top of this forum about opening ports correctly to make sure it is not your ports that are causing YMMBs problems.

It is a tricky subject.

Actually it is not Wrights ports 'cause i went 2 weeks ago and he went on a fine... i will open the ports(haven't done it yet ;D) and Fozzer you can't hack into our wireless without knowing the password 8-) :-X 10 digits(muhahahahahaha) and i think the rain might have also done something... i will try now after ports and stuff ;)   And Fozzer we have a simple wireless modem that has a cord( don't know why) a powerfull antenna thingy so that my whole family gets good reception  ;)

If he logged on AFTER you were already logged on... you woud not notice anything.  But some people trying to log on after he was then on might get the dreaded "All players could not connect" message.  You'd see them connect for a moment... and then disappear.

If your ports are not opened..... you can be preventing others from connecting.

The whole port thng is a bug in fs2004 that is not really all that "fixable" as I understand it.
