No you do not have to respawn in your display aircraft because you just hit the "alt" key and a few tabs come up on the top of the screen and if you look under them one of them says aircraft and then you click on it. And then chose your display aircraft and then hit ok and you will be right where you were in the paper airplane but it will have changed to your display aircraft. (I hope I didn't loss you)  :D
