Need help....

Postby Gunny04 » Mon Jun 13, 2005 10:06 pm

I posted this in the hardware forum but I guess it belongs here so I'll just reword it.... I managed to get my router to allow me to fly on the zone and by IP address on my primary computer (wire from Router to Ethernet) But on my second computer (Wireless connection wich plugs into USB port) I cannot play any game at all.... I believe its because of the same external IP.... Any help on how to make both playable? Cheers thanks for any help, Gunny

Ports will need to be opened for each computer ......... I don't have any experience of wireless technology  so I would suggest checking the link in the router tute and finding the specific tute for your equipment.

Ports on both comps Are opened VIA the router and therefore opened on both as to what I am aware..... my objective is to get both computers game playable.... I may chuck this POS Westell 327w when I get money and get a REAL router...... never get verizon DSL with there router, buy your own...... Cheers, Gunny whos still tearin pages on google apart

To get one to talk to the other ........ here's a suggestion ..... on the host computer open FS and goto the Multiplayer startup screen ..... At the bottom you will see a button with HOST on it ..... hit that and change the host port to 23455.
If your trying to host a game and play the same game on the same computer you need to have a different port open.
Make sure that the new port is open on the router.

Let me know if that helps.
