Hi,

Does any one of you know how to make a wabsite look like a pro has made it.
Im using dreamweaver mx but just cant make the site look pleasing.

No 1 Rule on a Web Site: Correct spelling and Grammar.
Always get a professional Proof Reader, (your Mum/Dad?), to check the site before Publishing it.......!
Folks will ignore the site content, and only spot the errors.......trust me...!

Yup well i thought if i spell brittish with two t's then if there is an airline that are called british international airways well they can't try and close me down to copy right laws.

and the reason i Published it and told you to look at it was so you can find the faults for me to correct.

now you've had you little laugh are you able to tell me how to get the site looking good.

You will definitely need someone on the Forum here, who is an expert in "Web Site Design" to do the job for you....
...anyone out there looking for a job... 8-)...?

Many designers use HTML instruction codes in the design of their Sites, but that requires an expert in the use of Hyper-Text Mark-up Language.... ...!

...right-click on this, or any other page, and select; "View Page Source" to view the Code.

Ok, here is my point of view. First of all, get rid of the green/blue squares. If you want to use colour in your website use it on the background so the whole screen is filled with it and not just some parts. It looks messy. Second, the colours are to bright. Use soft colours, it's easier to look at and to read text. Third, don't use hyperlinks in the text on your website. If you want to send people to another page or site use a button. Dreamweaver has some very nice Flash buttons you can use. Fourth, what Fozzer said, clean your text from spelling mistakes.

But i am very new to dreamweaver and thats my first website.
So i dont know how to add all the goodies that are within dreamweaver.

So i guess i will go look and have a play.

i will post to show you the progress then maybe.. .. some more tips.

Dreamweaver isn't the easiest website building tool to use. Especially when you are new to website design. However if you start playing around with it you will find out that it comes with some pretty cool features. Just practise or buy a guide on how to use it. I believe there is one in the For Dummies series.

Sir crashalot you said dreamweaver is not the best web building tool what would you suggest me using?

I said it wasn't the easiest to use. It is absolutely the best. I've been using it for about a year now and I am still learning new things about how to use it. It contains so many options and possibilities (in combination with Fireworks, Coldfusion and whatever more came with it) that you need to be a professional webdesigner to fully understand it's potential. But you can make a simple website with it without to many problems (see my own, www link at the bottom of my post). Just try things out, save you work alot of times and press F12 to view your work in your browser.

Nice i just dont understand the language lol.
Did you make those buttons or did you download them off the internet.
im sure in time i will improve but i also am still learning.

If you did download the buttons did you pay or are they free

The buttons are standard Flashbuttons that come with Dreamweaver. There are something like 20 different type of buttons you can use. Look under Media ---> Flashbuttons.

Have you had a peek at your own Service Provider's Web page......?
ie; "Build your own Web Site"

My Service Provider, (Freeserve), provides me with an easy-to-use, free program, for constructing my own Web site, (and Publishing it if I require), including a large amount of free Web space.... ...!

Maybe a bit limited in style, but they are very easy to use by the general public.
