HTML'ing

Postby Anxyous » Fri Aug 22, 2008 12:46 pm

Hi there!

My brother received a 10-minute guide on the basics of how to write a website, using HTML.

That totally got me into it, and I already got a site made, with two sub-sites.

Anyone else into this?

I figured this could be a general discussion about it, as well as tips and tricks...

[For the mods, didn't know where to post this]

Regards,

Andreas

I am helping to build a website for our Air Training Corps squadron.

One proper page so far... about 15 pictures, one PHP doc and a favicon. A lot of work to go.

It is good fun, just can be tiresome when it starts not working... COUGHRENDERINGCOUGH

I'm currently looking on how to get a background, like here on the site.

I know how to get a background, but I can't get these cool ones, where certain text is in certain places...

Time to check out the source code... (no flying through gazillions of evil sentinels to reach it involved... :P )

EDIT:

I stole (:P) a part of the beginning of the source code from the forums here, and what it appears to do, is change the way links appear.

I love the outcome, but now, each time I start up a page where I've applied the script, it prompts me to allow an Active-X object to start up.

It changes nothing if I do or don't, but it's annoying, so does anyone know how to change it?

Those are the joys of web dev  ;)

On my website there are two pages... both using the exact same code (except for the main content in a table) and they display differently.

Oh the joys.
