I'm sure that I will not be the only peerson in this forum who knows that the AVSIM server is still getting updated, and that a great many files are still missing. Don't get me wrong-excellent recovery on their part. Great site, couldn't live without it. And that's the problem.

I've been looking for many different types of freeware files. I've gone to flightsim.com, here, simviation (I made my first download from SimV... yep, good times. lol); and AVSIM. But I am struggling to find a particular type of file:

The AFCAD file.

I've been looking around for respectable FSX AFCADS and have found a few. But there is a problem: AVSIM has the most, and none of the FSX AFCADs have been re-uploaded yet. Many of those are all the good ones, taht at the least look very high quality.

So here is my proposal: EVERYONE who reads this topic, post as many freeware websites that you can think of. If you post a website that is already listed, that's fine. We can iron out those details later, if necessary. Here, everyone can find other sites to use if you can't find what you are looking for either, whatever that may be. Of course, this will also help me, too. ::)

Don't be mislead, this wasn't just for my benefit. And I have nothing against the file library here at SimV. But it's nice to explore a little bit, right?

So, there you go. Feel free to ask questions, give comments and suggestions, etc. Remember, check back frequently!

Rather than trawl through zillions of Sites looking for a particular item, I generally let Google do the earch it for me!...;)...!

If its an object, etc, for FS 2004 I just include the words; "FS 2004" in the search.
It generally turns up with a number interesting FS 2004 sources, which I can then explore.

Example: "FS2004. AFCAD"...or "FSX. AFCAD".

Both of these bring up sources....including Simviation!... :)...!

The more useful detail you include in the Search Engine, the more accurate the result!

Paul....G-BPLF...FS 2004... 8-)...!

"Google" is always your friend when searching for "something"!... ;D...!

...And I always end up with some crappy site that doesn't even have page numbers. They have thousands of files, no way to change pages, and they are SMATTERED with irritating adds that are so numerous, I have to squint to find the airplanes, none of which are ones that I'm looking for. I prefer reputable sites (Like SimV and AVSIM) that aren't a waste of my time. Sorry!

What ever that was, it's no use to me. What am I supposed to do with it? I can't register with whoever this is, and you didn't even tell me what it was for. Please be a little more helpful...
