Does anyone know where I might be able to find high quality screenshots? Perhaps users on high spec machines could submit their shots to a dedicated site, so that we can get an idea of the sort of eye-candy we could expect.

Regards,
Neil

Have you taken a look at the screenshots section here?

There's many FSX shots in there.

Check the picture posted by the guy named Mango. He has a powerfull PC and tweaked his FSX quite nicely. The whole topic is FULL of beautifull pictures, showing the default FSX scenery all over the world.

- Scaled down autogen
- Reduced visibility
- Islands (=less landmass,more water = better FPS)

Well, at least it seems to work for him.

As I said before, they posted screenshots of their world tour, which was not limited just to islands ;)
For the visibility, it depends of the visited zone. You should have a look to this whole thread, not just the first page :)
