I have seen many developers place notes in their work saying "NEVER UPLOAD TO FSPLANET.COM", and I was just wondering what's so bad about it.

Too the best of my knowledge it is because they offer downloads without permission from the developer, in other words steal

more importantly they profit from files that they haven't asked permission to use.

Ferdy who runs FSPirate is a thief!
He not only illegally offers files without the developers permission on his site, but you have to pay to download from it, and he sells CDs of the stuff he has taken as well.
Avoid FSPirate!!!

Somebody should litigate him then.
The developers have copyrights.

As a developer, I'm going so far as to customize versions of my new projects for each of the upload sites that will get them. Slight differences...but enough for me to know the origin of the files in question.
There will be no support of any sort for people who cannot demonstrate that the version was downloaded from an approved site.

I've got an idea...I could make users regester (for free) and tell me where they got it. The activation codes would be different for different sites, so they'd have to be truthful.
I could keep known copyright abusers from finding out the codes, and if they somehow found out, if they posted the code on their website, it would give rise to criminal prosecution.

He steals it! He has been banned and blocked from nearly all other FS sites, so he has taken to asking people to ask others to upload files onto his site in return for a reward. A real low-life
