Skyrora vs Ecosene! 45% less CO2

Postby TommyJo » Mon Dec 21, 2020 12:00 pm

I just wanted to share a new space manufacturer from Britain. In an interview, the founder says that the project wants to become British SpaceX. The truth clarifies that not by launching rockets to Mars, but by the inspiration of people.
The company is called Skyrora. In a very short period of time, they developed several launch vehicles and tested Ecosene engines made from recycled plastic. Here is their website

What do you think?

Not sure if burning plastic is really an environmentally friendly option. The Ecosene fuel may involve fewer emissions with respect to climate, but there may be many other byproducts which have no effect on climate per se, but which may be toxic or carcinogenic to individual organisms and which we wouldn't want building up in the biosphere.
