VATSIM?

Postby SeanTK » Sun Jan 24, 2010 4:35 pm

Just wondering.....

Does anyone here use VATSIM, or would be comfortable with the occasional weekend VATSIM flight?

I've very recently started to get back into it.

I suspect its aimed more at serious pilots of "heavies", flying long distance at high altitude, rather than the occasional Sunday afternoon Private Pilot out for a bit of a spin in his Piper Cub around the local countryside...frightening the Cattle and Sheep?... ;D...!

You can do short VFR flights just file a vfr flight plan but it is a good experience if you want to be a REAL PILOT

So "real pilots" don't ever fly VFR? ::)

Yes they do it's not to common you see a Cessna doing IFR for a short flight
like 60nm or less

Really? I'd love to see your evidence for that. I'm going to have to disagree on personal experience.

VFR and IFR are both equally in the realms of being a "real pilot", and I am still wondering how you can justify your inference that one option is more upstanding than the other, prestige-wise.
