Great Websight

Postby wilderobb » Sun May 22, 2005 5:00 pm

I found this websight while flying around the world trying to follow a flight plan of the 1920's. I found that some airports are no longer there now, renamed, or as in one case the original airstrip and village have been replaced by a Super Hotel! ( Named after the town. ) Try this out: http://www.airfields-freeman.com/index.htm ;D

No time to look at it now - but it's gone straight into my 'favourites' list - i'll have a look later.

Cheers,

It even mentions the old Ithaca airfield here in, well... Ithaca NY. I was going to built the old airport just for fun. The old hanger is still there and is in use as a theater.
Neat site!

Great site!

I was pleasently surprised to see the old "Galeville NY" airport featured.

It was there in the mid '80s that I first learned how to fly RC aircraft as a member of a local RC club that had permission to use the old airfield. It brings back a lot of old memories.
