Upload Woes?

I've discovered that if I try to upload ZIP files to SimV using Mozilla Firefox 3.6 that I get an error message that kills the upload.  The message basically says 'file format error'.  :'(

However, using IE 7 no such problem manifests itself.  :)

This glitch has only turned-up since the new website went online.  And I mention it only in case others have a problem uploading with Firefox.  ::)

Sorry I missed them - but have now found a file from you.

However this file would be a problem -- spaces in the filename (upload page stated 'no spaces' - spaces render the file invalid) "F-86A Lady Luck textures.zip"

However if you use a normal filename & still have problems, what would REALLY help would be if you told get a screenshot of the error - then I can show the programmer.

I have tried with all my PC's (5) using varying levels of IE and FF -- and cannot get any errors. Nor has anyone else mentioned this.

Believe me I want to know these things!!

Thanks for the help with Michael's file upload, Pete.

All of my files have met all of the requirements for an upload, but using Mozilla 3.6.10, I still get the error message.   While using IE 7, the same file uploads normally.  I have now repeated this test with four separate uploads.

I will send a screenie of the error message.

It appears that it is an issue unique to my computer, so I will repeat the experiment by using another computer for the next upload.

Of course, as long as IE 7 is working for me, it poses no real issue.  ;)

Erg.....sorry about that Pete. I don't know how it slipped under my radar. Next time I'll fill in all the gaps! Many thanks for your help.
Should I upload this again or will you just change the file name?

Mike

I've continued to attempt to upload files using Firefox with the same resulting error message as before.  Then using IE the same file uploads smoothly.   In the event that you run into this issue, you are not alone.  ::)
