Served with a survivor of that particular event....an 18 year-old gunner off a B-17   Last saw him in '68.  He's long gone now, but he was hell on wheels and I'll always remember him. 

Was at my 48th class reunion last month...at a school that has been closed for 42 years, and told a fellow alumnus that one day one of us would call another and say, 'We're the last two.'  He said he would like to be the last one.  I asked him what he would do.  He said he'd bring a bottle of bourbon, drink a toast to St. Joe Prep, undefeated since 1968 and then turn out the lights and lock the building.  Yes, we're fading away....but that's not a bad thing.  And with the dumbing of America, the place is going to hell in a handbasket anyhow.  8-)
