How sweet this baby is!
In 1965, I stood on the runway at Lowry AFB, CO while all the aircraft from a large airshow departed for home. All the jets did high-performance takeoffs and made a low pass before leaving. I soon forgot the puttering old A-1H after she tottered off and disappeared into the east. About ten minutes later everyone on the field was looking up seeking the source of the high-pitched scream of a piston engine. What we saw was the A-1H in a 70-degree dive. She must have started at about 20,000 ASL feet (the field elevation is 5.000 ASL) and finally pulled out at around 2,000 above the runway. Point made, A-1 Pilot. She ain't flashy, but she's got hidden talents.
When I say she's a screamer, I mean it literally.
Come to the darkside; we have Skyraiders! [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]
