Did something change recently? I can manage to get the downloads I want but I have had to switch from using Firefox to Explorer. Even then the downloads gets dropped often. What is the best corse of action? Do not re-read the prompts you get in the blue box to me, they do not seem to apply. I have had to do the reverse of what is suggested in them (go from Firefox to Explorer).

Which files are you having problems with? I've just downloaded several files from the latest CFS2 Aircraft page using Firefox. All works as advertised.

Are you sure the problem isn't at your end?

From the Using This Site section (note that Firefox is recommended):

Trouble accessing files or pages?

With almost no exception - all sites on the internet suffer technical problems from time to time. In addition to this the network itself (the Internet) can suffer traffic jams similar to those on a highway. All our links & pages should be accessible at all times & we do everything we can to correct & repair any link problems when they are exposed. During peek times some difficulty may be experienced accessing files or pages. Our own constant monitoring indicates this is usually more an ISP or network problem rather than our servers or immediate network.

You can determine the cause of your access problem in Windows by going to Start - Run & type 'tracert www.simviation.com' & watch what happens on the black screen. Any '*' or 'timed out' indicates a connection problem. If the problem ends at our end then we are experiencing difficulties. Otherwise the problem is a network or your immediate ISP one.

Other Common Reasons for Connection Difficulties:

    * Problematic Web Browser - The latest versions of Internet Explorer have default settings which can sometimes cause several problems. We recommend Firefox
    * Firewall - Many user problems are resolved by switching off firewall when accessing & downloading files. Setting Internet Security settings too high in your browser or firewall may also restrict access.
    * ISP (Internet Service Provider) - Providers vary widely in quality. If you feel you are getting a bad connection with your ISP - vote with your wallet - get a new ISP

Specific questions may be asked on our site forums

Very strange. Everything works fine for me when I use IE, but when I use Firefox the little white download button does not show up on the blue screen. I clicked around everywhere on the screen thinking it was invisible but no luck. The little FireFox gremlins stole me little white button me thinks. Gremlins, gimmie back me button!

Do you mean this button?

It works fine for me as you can see. I suspect the problem is on your machine.

PS. The CFS2 Downloads links have no button.
