Adding Scenery with FSSC?

Dear CFS2ers:

I have added scenery by using the program FSSC.

Everything is working great as of now, however, for some reason I cannot get the right look for the ground. I have tried to add a "sand look" around the airfield, as the stock cfs2 airfields have, and used the "flatten tool" but the ground looks like tiger stripes. Almost as if the ground is not flattened correctly. I have followed the instructions to the "t".

Any answers?

You've got a texture conflict between the stock mesh and the new scenery.   Try raising the surface of the flattened area by a few feet......5 or 6 should do it. ::)

I've seen the phenomenon a number of times when I was creating airfields in FSSC for the Korean campaigns.   I've always been able to correct it by raising the leveled area further above the existing terrain a few feet at a time until there was no overlap between the two.  Even if you have to raise the field say 30 feet due to irregularities in the stock mesh, there will be only a gradual slope around the edge of the field.
