Possibly revisiting an old sublect

I've gotten a hankering to do a Battle of Samar mission. Those familiar to that battle will know Kurita's Japanese fleet came ranging down on American Eescort carriers. Is it at all possible to simulate surface ships attacking surface ships in CFS2?
If you said no, I would expect that, but was just hoping if someone might have such a solution.
Thanks,
Darryl

in a way yes. if you use static ships then yes you can simulate them by using the triggers and inserting an Artillery Explosion effect object over a static ship and having it be triggered by a plane entering the area or the player spawning then an Artillery explosion will simulate an attack. If your using moving ships i dont think it can be done but i've been wrong before.

I really got this idea because when creating a new ship mdl file from FSDS2 FSC files, we have to place the 'pattern' ship folder into the CFS2 Aircraft folder temporarily, and change the name of the Ship.CFG to Aircraft.CFG. Then I saw these 'player flyable' ships, downloaded one or two and found they worked.......they are ships in the Aircraft folder configured as aircraft. Might have to do some doodling around with the CFG and DP files.
