can't export properly

i've downloaded GMAX from KINETIX.com, i've succesfully installed it, but when i import any .3ds file and try to export, it doesn't show any .mdl file type option, so i only have an .gmax file, unable to become mdl... am i missing something? is there anything left i didn't downloaded? please help me!!!  :-[
