Screen Pack Problem...

I installed the Britain_Goldpack http://www.simviation.com/cfs2misc2.htm started up my CFS2 European Theatre... and got nothin... just the usual grey Nationality screen, I checked in the UIRES folder, and there is a scr_campaign_bri picture... in jpeg format, the stock one's are bmp, but the german pack I installed are jpegs, and it works perfectly... I currently don't  have a British Campaign installed, so I do not know if the problem is just the main bri screen, or all of 'em. I don't know the first thing about the country.cfg file. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Brandon

You can alter the title or extension of the picture in the country.cfg file, by simply opening it as a text file, notepad or wordpad exe, and just locate what the default picture was, and save a backup copy of it, then retitle the picture you want as the original default one.
Example: if you want to alter the Britain section, look for these entries-
debrief_images=scr_db_landed_safe_bri.jpg, scr_db_crashed_bri.jpg, scr_db_shot_down_bri.jpg, scr_db_bailed_bri.jpg, scr_db_ditched_bri.jpg, scr_db_shot_down_bri.jpg, scr_db_bailed_bri.jpg
outcome_images=out_back_at_base_bri.jpg, out_back_at_base2_bri.jpg, out_failure_bri.jpg, out_wounded_bri.jpg, out_death1_bri.jpg, out_death2_bri.jpg, out_death3_amer.bmp, out_submarine_bri.jpg, out_captured_bri.jpg, out_warning_bri.jpg, out_promotion_bri.jpg, out_commendation_bri.jpg, out_failure_bri.jpg
screen_images=scr_nationality_bri.jpg, scr_singlemission_bri_2.jpg, scr_briefing_bri.jpg, scr_selectpilot_bri.jpg, scr_trainingmission_amer.jpg, scr_squadron_bri.jpg, scr_advancedinfo_bri.jpg, scr_advancedinfo_bri.jpg, dlg_pilotdetails_bri.jpg, dlg_certificate_bri.jpg
scuttlebutt_images=dlg_scuttlebutt_bri.jpg

If you save a jpg as a bmp or vice versa, and the original is the opposite, you can change these entries'
extensions, but I don't know about the title. It may be possible to change these as well, but cannot remember if this is possible.

Thanks for the info Tom, I'll take a whack at it later and see how it goes.

Perhaps you got another Screen to represen the British like the Fox Korean Campaign or Battle of Britain Memorial install. The only way you can fix this, if this is the case is for you to uninstall the previous install.

I ran into the same problem with the Britain Gold Pack. I used Irfanview to do a batch conversion--bmp to jpg (or maybe it was the other way around, anyway) and they work fine. However, the "landed safely" screen is missing; I had to use the appropriate U.S. screen and rename it to match the bri files.

Nope, as soon as I got done installing my European Theatre Install, I installed the screenpacks... and the British screen pack was/is a no-go.

I'll convert the main bri screen (I forget what it's called) to .bmp and see how it goes.
