Visualising CFS2 Models

Postby Padser » Wed Feb 23, 2005 6:09 am

~S~ all

Does any one know of any software that will allow you to get a visual representation of CFS2 aircraft models?

DpEd is unable to display them in the way that it does with models from other sims - FS98 and FS2000 models are okay, I think.

Having DpEd display both the wireframe and damage boxes is such a useful feature when setting up dp files or editing other aspects of an aircraft - Any ideas as to how to do it with CFS2 files?

Thanks in advance

Hi Pads

ACM will do what you want. http://www.aircraftmanager.com/
Not sure it will be much use for this job as it shows the model & not the weapons. There used to be a free trial version which would be all you need. Not sure if this is still the case.

PS. It's designed for FS2002/4. Not sure if it will run without either installed. For it to recognise CFS2 you will have to run the program & reset the preferences. Then exit & restart it before you can use it.

I thought this program looked very good, downloaded, but just can seem to get it to run under XP!!!
Get an error message about OS not being suitable to run DOS windows based programs????!!!

I assume others have solved this one... what's the answer??

Should run fine on XP as it's a fairly new program. I'm on WinMe but know people with XP who run it with no problems. It's possible you need FS2002 or FS9 installed for it to run as I pointed out.

I'm running both FS2004 and CFS2 on the same machine with XP sp2.

The error message comes up during installation saying that the "system32/autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running MS Dos and windows applications"

Got me beat at the moment.

Found the problem, thanks to Morten.
For some reason the file autoexec.NT was missing from my system32 folder!!!
Re-installed and ACM worked first time.
BTW this is a really great program, allows not only visualisation of the aircraft but gives details of the MDL construction.
