Is there a way to keep the panel cfg from reading the
gunsight bmp ?
Like on the C-47 Dakota ?
Checked out the panel clinic , just wondering.

Chuck Dome posted an update to remove the default gunsight. This is a modified Gunsight64.bmp. It works fine in both CFS1 & CFS2 but unfortunately removes the gunsight from all aircraft. The only way over it is to backup the original gunsight & use whichever one you need at the time.
PS. The default gunsight is not part of the panel & not defined in Panel.cfg. Gunsight64.bmp lives in the main Texture folder.

Thanks Hagar!
I was afraid of that.
I've changed gunsights but couldn't see where to eliminate them on certain aircraft.
Hope you had a nice Holiday !

Try a search for noguns.zip by Chuck Dome. Either that or do it yourself with Chuck's gunsight repaint utility posted in the CFS Utilities section.
I just thought of another method. On typical 2D panels used on aircraft like the C-47 you could lower the gunsight below the panel BMP itself. Try tweaking the [Default View] SIZE_Y= value in Panel.cfg. Increasing the value will lower the gunsight. Don't go above SIZE_Y=6150. This would only work from Cockpit View.
