Mission Builder Question

Postby Skua » Wed Oct 27, 2004 1:47 pm

It's been a long time since I've done any serious MB work, so it may just be that I've forgotten something. Anyhow, I'm setting up a Combat Zone, or CZ, for my squadmates & I in VF-15. I've got one of the bases in the Solomons group set up as a US base, and another for the Japanese. The strange part is, I can't get the AAA at the "enemy" base to shoot at me! Even if I put in a front, and the base turns the appropriate color for the "bad guys", I still get no response from the antiaircraft, even if I strafe the guns directly.
The fleets of ships I've set up work fine- IJN ships shoot at USN planes and vice versa. But the gunners on the land bases seem to be asleep!

The only AAA I've set up at the Japanese base is a number of the Japanese 75MM guns from the default list of infrastructure items. Is there something I'm forgetting to do to make these guns fire? let me know, please.

Skua you have probably been using AAA Gun emplacement for your your AAA guns. The reason they where not shooting is because they have no Gun in them. They are empty gun emplacements. Or perhaps if you made a front line you did not fly pass it and the AAA did recognize you as a enemy. Another thing you can use to increase AAA activity is improve the rotation of the AAA when placing them on the Map.

I am aware that the "gun emplacements" on the bases are only empty  piles of sandbags LOL.  :) I placed the Japanese 75 MM AAA guns from the infrastructure list in those emplacements. I will try checking the orientation of the guns. I know I crossed the front line when testing the mission, and the colors are right- my F6F is blue, and the base is red. But we'll keep plugging away at it. Thanks for your input.
