Question about modifying an aircraft

I was wondering if it was possible, just for my own personal use, to modify an aircraft such as the KW F86 sabre and just exchange its six .50 cal machine guns for say a Vulcan cannon like that found on a modern aircraft.

I am asking because I have no experience modeling or modifying aircraft and I would appreciate any help you have.

Thanks

This will allow you to change the location of the gun flashes and the destructive power of the cannon/ gun.
It will not change  the visual model.

I can't imagine why you would want to do this but that's up to you. ::)

I'm wondering where you intend fitting this gatling gun on steroids. :o

Only joking. ;)

As Merlin points out you can't change the visual model.*

*PS. Well you could if you can find one in a modern weapons package.

One of the best little programs for modifying the DP file that I have used for a long time is called DPED.

Even gives you a visual model so you can see the placement of your guns. You can change all the settings you wish.

If I am not mistaken, DPED is available here in the CFS2 downloads section in Utilities.

Hi Fireman. DPED is a wonderful utility. Unfortunately it can't read the MDL file of aircraft created with Gmax or FSDS2 like the KW Sabre. It wiil still read the DP file but this makes DP editing a little more difficult.

Hi Hagar.   Well, see. These guys are going to have to update their programs.   ;D

I sure liked it. A few of us Hoppers, when we were going strong, kinda updated some of our acft. for the shooters that would inevitably come into our free flight rooms. Boy did they get a surprise!

If you want a 30mm GAU like the A10, contact a guy at --flynf21b@hotmail -- and ask for the zip.
