I've just uploaded at AVsim the latest revised and updated YAS spitfire YAS_MkIa(PR-F) .zip. You'll also need the new YAS_pack.zip which contains the required gauges/ panel/ sounds.
Enjoy!

Feedback always welcome.

Got both of those Merlin, hmm, seems sluggish in combat? i'm into 1% stuff & i'm struggling to get  your Mk 1 & 2 to get good 'kill' scores like the 1% planes.
Must admit they're SPECTACULAR looking crates :o perhaps i'm frightened to get them dirty !

I've got them in Quick Combat now, & i'm being FRIED by the Groundcrew He 111's , the wing men are going down quicker than me :o
Seem to be hitting them alright, just not doing enough damage to the 111's, any tips ?

Sounds pretty much like real life. The Brownings couldn't pump enough lead in the 2 sec they had... Remember the convergence is set to 400ft so you have to be real close to get the impact.

The .air file is fairly representative of the early Mk's although they were good, they were still 1937 vintage!!

You could tweek the dp file to give more punch by changing the machine guns to cannon type ammo.
Try the same QC with the YAS_MkV's, there should be a major difference.

Hi Merlin , just got the YAS MKV, & i'll give it a try first chance i get.
The He111's are far too accurate :'( does'nt matter how much you duck'N'dive they still nail you, they've done terminal damage by the time you get to 400 ft !
Good job it's only a SIM  ::) but i'd like to take a couple out before i selflessly sacrifice myself.
Dont want to change anything in the dp, sooner keep it as you've set it.

THere's a YAS MKIXc and a MkXVIe(clipped) about to be beta tested, DEFINATELY got more speed and grunt!!!!
Should be out late next week.
A bit unfair though, the old He111 had long disappeared by the time they came on the scene.

Now I'm really looking forward to these. ;D I'm very much into the later model Spits and it's great to see them getting some attention. Just one question, will the XVIe be a high back or low back model?

My apologies for a "newbie" question, but what's a 1% plane?

Yeah ditto, a 1% plane is a plane that is designed to fly within 1% of the characteristics of a 'real' aircraft, using a process that can also be competition certified for multi-player use, to ensure a level playing field? ;D ;D ;D we wish !!
you can get some of  these from http://www.avhistory.org/  they seem to be concentrating on CFS3 so not to many CFS2 planes, their big files too around 7-8meg.
I was dubious at first given the way the AI's handle in combat, but you can stall turn in behind them with a bit of planning, there's quite a few add on planes designed using this concept, you've just got to find them.

Happ is right about Avhistory focusing on CFS3.  As a result, Netwings will be offering all of the Avhistory 1% CFS2 planes at their site.  Some are already posted.  More on the way.
