I have great graphics with CFS1 especially with the scenery upgrades on this site. My graphics have never been good with CFS2. I have a Athlon xp 2000+cpu, 1024mb ram with a DDR2100 chip and an ATI AIW9700128DDR graphics card. It is not a pro version. I have tried different settings. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I'm no hardware expert but I reckon CFS2 should run like a rocket on that system. With that amount of RAM I assume you're on WinXP. My first suggestion is to check the video card manufacturer's site for updated drivers & install the latest DirectX from the Windows Update site.
Hope this is some help.

Here's something else to think about as well. It sounds as if your system is fairly new, but AMD upgrades its processor "Miniport Drivers" every once in a while. I used to run CFS2 on an 850 Athlon Thunderbird processor with 512MB of RAM and a 3Dfx Voodoo5. The graphics and performance were marginal until I upgraded the "miniport driver" for the processor. It made a huge improvement not only in the video quality but the speed and performance as well. This might help you out and then again, but like the man said, the video card drivers are the FIRST thing to look at and the easiest to upgrade.
good luck,

Make sure CFS2 recognises the card. When I installed my gForce4 CFS2 didn't recognise it and ran on safe mode intill I manually edited it to accept the card.
If you have FS2002/2004 then go to the root file and open the file called "Display". Find your graphics card bit there and copy and paste it into the same file in CFS2. This might cure your problem. If however you don't have FS, the whole operation becomes far more difficult.
