CFS2 Missions and Campaigns

Postby ditto58 » Tue Jun 22, 2004 1:52 pm

I recently downloaded and installed the Korean War add-on that I found at this site.  I see that the guys who did it have recently added a new carrier one, too.

I am very impressed by the quality and the ease of installation and want to say thanks to those who have put in all of the hard work to make it available.

My question is whether there are CFS2 campaigns available for later in WWII.  The stock CFS2 is stuck in early to mid war.  Most of the stock missions involve flying a Wildcat.  The Corsair is an early, three-bladed prop model.  Later Corsairs were arguably as good or even better fighters than the Mustang.

Also, why do so many add-ons involve Europe and not the Pacific?

Hi ditto,
yes indeed the fox four campaigns are exceptionaly good, the Panther in the carrier campaigns can be a BRUTE to fly, it's reluctant to pull out of a dive & requires careful handling if you dont want to crash & burn.
Late war campaigns ? Iwo Gima(Tom Sandford again) Leyte gulf, etc , you only have to look (missions as well) you can even get an entire Australian Campaign.
European stuff ? not THAT much unfortunately, choice of scenery can cramp your style a bit, i'm a fan of Steve McLelland's Euro series, FANTASTIC ! trying to get out of a Norweigian Fjord with a damaged Mosquito is something else, i'm rapidly becoming a low flying expert ! one of these days i might complete the mission  :o

Ditto,

There is a campaign about VF-58 or was it 85... that campaign is about strikes on Japan, flying F4U. Then there is at least 4 scottly's flying operations Victor, Iceberg and so on. I made a campaign about VF-17 taking place from late 1943 to beginning of 1944. My campaign is available from Sim-outhouse, most likely I got the others from outhouse or Netwings.
