Happ. HMS Ocean has been thoroughly tested & works fine. I suggest you mail Collin Glendinning. His e-mail is in the Readme.*

*PS. No it's not. :-[ Here ya go. collin@thepolymath.freeserve.co.uk
Meanwhile I'll check it out myself.

thats quick Hagar!
i dont usually bother the creators of stuff, i find it's somehing stupid i've probably done but i'd like HMS ocean for the missions i'm doing for myself, i've done two that work properly now based around the Northwest of England, thanks to Cody Coyote (i'm not saying how many BUMMERS i've gone thro' to get to 2  ::) ) still having prob's with positioning at the end of the runways, proper bases are OK, the simple strip's are iffy i'm either to one side or a country mile away, got the runway positions in free flight as per your tute. get there in the end, as you say trial & error.
i'm working out an 'assembly sheet' so i can put everything in the right place in the mission , events, triggers, enemy aircraft, ships etc etc, before loading it up easier to spot mistakes that way( i'm in AWE of people who can do it all in their heads) if it was easy there'd be no FUN in it ;)

We would rather you mail one of us instead of posting in the forums. It's usually quicker.

OK. First things first. I downloaded HMS Ocean & installed it to a fresh install of CFS2 following the instructions. It works fine for me.

Make sure it's configured correctly in a folder named

Yes indeed,
done exactly what you've said there Hagar, what's different for me is descrip.dat CFS2\INFO wont open in notepad, says 'file too big to open in notepad use wordpad instead' is that the problem? any sort of limit been passed? carrying a LOT of British /German stuff now in descrip.dat.
I'll recheck manyana, i've copyed your last into notepad i'll print it & check it out against what i've done.
Thanks, Happ

Come to think of it my descrip.dat opened automatically in Wordpad. I got no warning. That should be OK. I'm wondering if there's a limit to the data you can add which could cause your problem.

I'm no good with the MB myself. To check it out I quickly added HMS Ocean to a default mission. This is what I got. You have to define at least 2 waypoints for it to work.

Hi Hagar,
Had your previous word for word & in the right files, still no HMS Ocean, so i took it out from the ship file & got a fresh zip from Fox Four & copied and pasted the new file into ships, it's changed, now i got 'Aircraft initialisation failure'( i'm trying it with an Alpha Seafire 47),out of frustration i tried it with a wildcat... & there it IS!! changed that to a Mosquito & away i go  8) the long deck's just what i'm looking for, i think i can get it down without a hook (clandestine activities!)
I've got the other british ships Collins done, well on the way to a fleet, i have'nt a clue what it was, file corruption perhaps?, & according to Martin wright around 90 ships for problems to start, i've got 48 in my ship list, & 350 items in descript.dat.
Thanks for your help :-[
