CFS2  -Something went wrong!

Postby skeeterman » Thu Feb 19, 2004 9:59 pm

Hello;

It's been a while since I have posted.. I read most all the post daily, but rather need to send a message.
But here is one that I need answered.

I have CFS2 and last night it worked fine. Today I put the Disk #2 in and the screen shows it loading come up, but than "nothing" and a wondow pops up saying
it is sending to Microsoft this error type program won't work.
I read the small print, telling me about a "Digital Product ID.  and file C:\ddcume~1\Owner\locals!temp\wer2A.tmp.diroo\oppcorpal.txt

Now here is the kicker..  I can play the Fighter Ace ll on the computer..  It works, but not the CFS2 side.
Anyone has any idea what went wrong?

Thanks;
Skeeter

I don't know what went wrong, some file got screwed up no doubt, or your disk is trashed, try running it with the no CD patch, or re-install it with the no cd patch, so you don't have to use the disc. Make sure you do a full install though.

Hi Skeeterman. I have 2 separate versions of CFS2 installed right now. I used to have 4 + 3 installs of CFS1. I check out all sorts of files in the current M$ sims almost every day & only once remember having to reinstall FS2000, CFS2 or FS2002. I don't remember which one. (CFS1 was different & I used to uninstall/install it regularly.)

If you haven't installed a 3rd party addon since it last worked I suspect the problem is with your CD, the CD-ROM drive or something you recently installed/changed on your system. I use the appropriate No-CD patch (where necessary) for all my sims. This takes the CD & CD-ROM drive out of the equation.
