Formation Flying

I know how to insert add-on planes into formation in the mission folder.  But some types of planes will not stay in their assigned positions.  They keep alternating  between a shallow dive and climb.  Is there any adjustment that can be made that will force these planes to stay in their assigned positions relative to the lead plane?

Some 3rd party aircraft are not really suitable as AI aircraft. This is why many mission designers use different versions of the same aircraft as flyable & AI drones. Try it with the defaults. If they're OK look around for different versions that do behave properly.

The plane(s) I'm using are Massimo's (spelling?) beautiful Lockheed T-33s.

What did you mean when you said, "Try it with the defaults"?

I mean the stock aircraft that come with CFS2. Their flight dynamics are set up to use as both Player aircraft & AI. As none of these are jets this might not  be such a good idea.

I also have an older P-80 by Chris Lamphard (spelling again).  For a while that plane stayed in formation  perfectly.  I don't recall but perhaps after I reinstalled CFS2 is when that plane woudln't stay where I placed it.

It was great when it did work. I had the planes flying 30-50 feet apart.

Sure would be great if I could get them to work again.

Thanks your your input.
